Theo Pijper was one of the unlucky riders who didn’t get a team place at the start of the 2017 season, but he has just knuckled down and got on with his racing in overseas events, including of course the World Longtrack Championship.
His chance has come to return to UK racing because of injuries to Mark Riss, but Monarchs are delighted to have someone of the calibre of Theo to take the position. He is after all our twelfth highest league points scorer of all time and has ridden 8 previous seasons for the club.
He said after agreeing his return ““I’ve been riding non-stop so far, I’ve done a few speedway meetings abroad with good results so I will be ready on Thursday. My equipment is as good as new so we will just go for it.”
As for slotting back in to riding Armadale, he commented “I’ve been there long enough to know. I hope the team will help me a little bit with setups if anything’s changed. I’m pleased to be there. I’ll be putting 100% in don’t worry.”
